Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Customer Service and Documentation teams across Cairo branch, ensuring alignment with company objectives and service standards
  • Oversee the complete documentation cycle for import, export, and transshipment shipments, ensuring timely issuance, accuracy, and proper system updates
  • Manage daily departmental operations, workflows, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and high productivity levels
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by ensuring all inquiries, requests, complaints, and disputes are addressed promptly and professionally
  • Ensure full collection of all applicable shipping charges, including Ocean Freight (OFR), Detention (DET), Terminal Handling Charges (THC), and other related fees
  • Handle customer disputes regarding billing, documentation, and operational matters while ensuring satisfactory resolutions
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipping documentation is prepared and issued in accordance with MEDKON Lines policies, industry standards, and Egyptian laws and regulations
  • Manage long-staying cargo cases and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution
  • Coordinate CBF activities and vessel loading lists with customers, Operations, and other relevant departments
  • Supervise and manage re-export shipment processes in compliance with customs and regulatory requirements
  • Review and process customer discount requests in line with approved commercial policies and authorization levels
  • Oversee Cash on Delivery (COD) activities, ensuring proper collection, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Monitor and update customer credit balances on a weekly basis in coordination with Finance and Commercial teams
  • Design, conduct, and analyze annual customer satisfaction surveys to identify areas of improvement and enhance service quality
  • Create, review, and validate vessel loading lists at least 24 hours prior to vessel arrival to ensure operational readiness
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of vessel EDI manifests through the Nafeza platform and compliance with Egyptian Customs requirements
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Agency teams to ensure seamless shipment execution and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service performance and operational excellence
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, legal requirements, and audit standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Transport, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or maritime operations
  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position within Customer Service and Documentation functions
  • Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, import/export procedures, vessel operations, and customs regulations
  • Practical experience with Nafeza, EDI manifest submissions, re-export procedures, and customer credit management
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
